HIT Methods
Clinical data is not just information--it is a tool that can prove to be very beneficial to society. The data itself is "living"--it can significantly impact the well being of individuals. The methods employed by IHC showed a well laid out model for storing, processing, and analyzing clinical data. "Studying" clinical data allows for pinpointing clinical areas of interest that have the potential to positively impact society. It is also important to clearly define goals and use facts to appropriately measure outcomes. Data is integrated from many areas, standardized as best as it can be, and distributed to appropriate holding sites. Also, probably the most important aspect of clinical data is the role of teamwork. Keeping the lines of communication open between all departments and disciplines allows for better flow and maintenance of data from beginning to end.
