Virtual Reality in medicine

The lecture gave us a comprehensive view of virtual reality systems and importance of various simulators to tailor medical education. Virtual reality systems has the tremendous power to revolutionize the field of medicine by improving the skill and efficiency of surgeons and reducing medical errors to a great deal. Use of haptics in the anatomical examinations and surgery would greatly help surgeons to understand the underlying anatomic structures and thereby they significantly develop their skill before they involve in the actual treatment or surgery. Medical education using various kinds of simulators could be greatly useful for the burgeoning surgeons improve and weigh their surgical performance, which could significantly improve the treatment efficiency and reduction of fatal medical errors.
